Why I Read by Email: A Personal Reflection

Can a reading that arrives as words on a page really feel personal? It is a fair question, and I understand why people ask it. Many of us picture a reading as a voice on a call, or someone sitting across a table. Writing can seem like the quieter, more distant cousin of that.

After twelve years of written readings, I can tell you why I have stayed with email, and why a psychic reading by email can feel closer than you might expect.

Why I stay with the page

When I write your reading, I choose every word. I cannot rush past a thought or fill a silence with something that sounds good. If a line is not true to what I am being shown, I notice it on the page and I fix it.

Writing also lets me return to your questions as often as I need to. I can read them again, sit with them, and let the guidance settle before I put it down for you.

That slowness is a gift, and not only for me. It means the guidance you receive has been sat with, not said on the spur of the moment. Your reading is written at the booked time and sent by email when complete, so it arrives whole and ready for you.

What I notice about how people receive a written reading

These are general observations from my years of doing this work, rather than one person's story.

A written reading is rarely read just once. People tend to read it slowly the first time, often with a cup of tea, and then come back to it on another day. A line that passed quietly the first time can land differently when life has moved on a little.

I also notice that the page gives people room. There is no pressure to respond in the moment or to look composed. You can feel whatever you feel, in your own space, and take as long as you like before deciding what a line means to you.

And often, what stays with someone is not the biggest line. It is a small, gentle one they did not expect, the one that sounds like someone finally listened.

Your pace, your space

A call asks you to be somewhere at a certain time. A written reading does not. Whether you are on the Gold Coast, in Texas or in a small town in England, nothing about your day has to change. If you want to understand the whole journey, my post on how an email reading actually works walks you through it from booking to inbox.

There is also something kind about not having to say your question out loud. Some things are easier to write than to say, and a question set down on the page is safe there.

Written does not mean distant

I can understand the worry that words on a screen might feel like a template. A reading should never feel like that. Yours is written for you, about your questions, in plain and warm language connected to your real life. If you would like to know more about what happens when I connect with your angels for you, you may like what I see when I connect with your angels.

A written reading is also something you can keep. You can open it on a hard day, or months later, when a line you were not ready for suddenly makes new sense.

A gentle way to read yours

If you do book a written reading, you might give it a little room when it arrives. Read it when you are not rushed. Notice which lines you want to read twice. Some people like to jot down a few thoughts of their own as they go, and the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley shares a simple expressive writing practice if you would like a place to start. None of it is homework. It is simply a way to keep company with the words.

If a quiet, written reading sounds like your pace

If this sounds like your pace, you are in exactly the right place. Have a look through the readings on my Book Me page. Standard readings start from $45, and each one says what it looks at so you can choose the one that fits what you are carrying. If you are not sure, you can always contact me and I will help you choose.
